8th post

Hello all eager readers of my fantastic man blog! I just know how much you are wanting to know what the interesting topic of the week is, this week(even though all of you do). Well this week we are discussing which is the worst, the Rwandan government, the Chinese government, the militant, or the people that didn't resist. I personally believe that the Chinese government is the worst, due to the fact that they censor media and the internet. This is wrong because the people should be able to know anything and do anything on the internet without having 30,000 internet police tracking you and arresting you. We are very fortunate to have our government give us so much freedom. Also though, the Rwandan government is very bad due to the great amounts of segregation and racism.

The past two weeks have been pretty exciting. Yesterday there was a choir party at Jack Foster's house. It was very fun. I am excited for our choir trip we have started discussing, which will take place in spring break. In all, choir is going very well. And although I did not make the pre-area choir, it is a lot of fun. There was a German club holiday party today. We caroled at a retirement home, and between the few of us that actually showed up, we agreed it was a very creepy experience. Thanks for reading everybody, this is my last post this semester, but I hope there will be more. Thanks for reading.

7th Post

Hello friends and fellow bloggers, this is my seventh post. This post is a special post, because it is a free topic, so I get to talk about things that I am interested in. I am in the choir at Anderson and I love music. My musical tastes change often so this will probably go against my 3rd blog. I am starting to fully recognize how amazing some older bands are. For example I like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, The Beatles, The Who, and Queen. Also, I swim a lot. I just recently joined COTA, which stands for Capital Of Texas Aquatics. And so far, it is pretty fun. Well, thats pretty much me.

The past two weeks have been pretty exciting. I had my all region choir concert, and switched swim teams from team ATP to COTA. But besides that, not much has happened. Thanks for reading!

6th Post

This week for my post I am required to post a painting by a Latin American artist. The artist I chose is Diego Rivera. Rivera was born on December 8, 1886 and died November 24, 1957. He was married to the Latin American artist Frida Kahlo. Most of his art involved his political views, which in his case was communism. He painted many mosaics, in many cities such as New York, San Francisco, Mexico City, Detroit, and more. The picture of his that I posted is called "The Flower Carrier" and I chose this because I believe it is a good representation of Rivera's work. Diego Rivera was a very talented artist, as was his wife. I think that his mural paintings and open views of communism changed Latin America and the world.

For the past two weeks good things have happened. I auditioned for the school club Fame, and I am accepted(along with the other eight guys that tried out). I'm not yet sure what being a part of Fame entails, but I believe it will be fun. My swim coach moved from our team, team ATP to COTA(Capital of Texas Aquatics) and so most of my team is moving as well. I think it is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and hopefully get better. Thank you for reading my blog, and get ready for the next one!

5th Post

"When the well's dry, we know the worth of water"-Benjamin Franklin. I believe this quote means that people take things they already have for granted. Even though it should not be this way, sadly it is. I believe that we need to stop taking things for granted, because people in Africa and in Asia don't even have food, and here we are complaining that the things we have arent good enough, or new enough. This quote means that only when we don't have something we used to have, then we understand how much it meant to us. More people need to understand this quote and follow it.

In the past two weeks I have done a lot. On Thursday we had a choir concert, and I personally thought all of the choirs did very well. This weekend I had a swim meet and I did pretty well. Halloween is next week! I cant wait, its gonna be pretty sweet. Thanks for reading my blog and tune in next week for my 6th post!

4th Post

Hey everybody! Its me again and I am doing my fourth post for world geography. This week the topic is... illegal immigration. Now this is a pretty controversial topic, but I will just be giving my opinion. Now down here in the grand, old state of Texas, we have quite a lot of illegal immigration. Because Texas shares a border with Mexico there are a lot of Mexicans that try to cross the border. They believe that by leaving Mexico that they can start new in the United States. This is bad because they take jobs away from American people that need the jobs to support themselves. And the bad part is, the government doesn't even seem to care! They just seem to look the other way and let it slip by! Sure there is a border guard and a fence but they don't really seem to be dealing with such a large issue as this one. I personally think that this should be stopped, and that we cannot have people that aren't even American citizens take away jobs that should go to people that need them! This may not be what everyone thinks and once again this is just my opinion, but that everyone's opinion needs to be heard for this country to succeed.
Reflection:
The past two weeks have been pretty crazy. There has been a large amount of homework and I am really glad it is the weekend. Two very bad things have happened in the past two weeks. My biology teacher, Mr. Schwarz has been diagnosed with cancer. I feel very bad for him and his kids and I hope he gets better. Second, my German teacher, Frau Lesher, is having twins! This is very good news, but it is a risky pregnancy because they are in the same amniotic sac. It is bad because we will not have her for our teacher next semester. I am very happy though, because I am writing this blog in Chicago. My family is staying with my grandparents and we are having an awesome time! I have already picked out my future car from the Lamborghini dealer(there are 50 of this model in the world, 2 in the United States) and I cant wait for tomorrow! Thanks for reading my post, and stay tuned for my fifth!

3rd post

My assignment for this post is to talk about culture by talking about my favorite bands, so here I go. I enjoy many different genres of music. Some of my absolute favorite bands are The White Stripes and The Beatles. I very much enjoy Justin Timberlake, because he is very talented, and he can sing, dance, and act. I am also getting into Frank Sinatra because he is also extremely talented. I am going to put some links to great videos by some awesome bands.
The White Stripes-Fell in Love With a Girl http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRDi67G0Siw
The White Stripes-The Hardest Button to Button http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLESpHrtvxs
The White Stripes- 7 Nation Army http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VutMLnjXTY4
All of these videos are amazing! The first is made of legos, the second was in the simpsons, and the third is just awesome.

2nd Post

The five themes of geography are location, place, human enviroment interaction, movement and region. My job today is to say how all of these relate to good, old, Austin, Texas. For location, the absolute location is 30 degrees north, and 97 degrees west. The place is the human and physical characteristics, so the physical characteristics are town lake, and mt. benel. Human characteristics is quite different, Austin is known as a "different town" so there are quite a lot of "interesting characters" here. The movement for Austin is using cell phones for communicaton, and others. Human enviroment interaction in Austin is building bridges, huge buildings, roads, schools and more. And finally, region. The region for Austin is, the south. I dont like being steriotyped as a southerner, but oh well.

My reflection consists of what I have done in the last two weeks. School has just been getting harder, and I thought that wasnt possible! Last night was the choir retreat, which I thought was very fun! I have been drowning in homework, so I hope I make it! Thanks for reading!

Hello everyone!! This is my first post for world geography at Anderson high school. The assignment is to share about myself, so here i go! I am a ninth grader currently going to school at Anderson high. Some of my hobbies include boy scouts and competitive swimming. I am also an award winning singer in the AHS choir. I am very interested in music. Some of my favorite bands include The White Stripes and The Beatles. I have one sister, who is going to Hill Elementary. Go Dillos!! When i graduate from Anderson, i plan to go to Boston University(also, go Terriers!) and become one of the members of the acapella group The Dear Abbeys. That about sums up my post, thanks for reading it!
Reflection:
Here is the part where I reflect on the last 2 weeks of my life. Two weeks ago school started. At first, I was very, very lost. Its quite hard to go from such a small school like Murchison to Anderson. I have been drowning in homework, but I will try my best to get through it. I like all of my teachers and classes, especially German 1 with ms. Lesher. Anderson is very exciting and I am having a great time so far, which I hope will continue. Thanks for reading!
